Jumping Bean Wins Tender to Train LPI in East Africa

Jumping Bean has again been succesful in bidding for the LPI training that is being rolled out across Africa by the ICT@Innovation project of Fossfa. The face-to-face training will be held in Dar es Salaam for two weeks from the 1st to the 12th August with an 4 week online training session preceeding the face-to-face meetup.

Online and Instructor Lead Training

The four week online training, which is carried out using open source online training and collaboriation tools, much like the ones Jumping Bean is using to roll out its online training offerings, is intended to skill candidates up before the face-to-face training so that they can get the most out of the instructor lead training.

About 25 students will be trained by Jumping Bean during this leg of the programme, with the students sitting for the LPI level 1 exam at the end of the session. Our past students have done a tremendous jobs with pass rates of 75% and 94%  for the prior two training!

Jumping Bean is happy to be contributing positively to the growth of FOSS in general in  Africa and Linux in particular!
